When I was a kid, I hated pulling weeds in my mom’s huge garden, but looking back now…my mom had an awesome garden! I am not the one in the family that inherited her green thumb!
Last year was the first year I tried planting some veggies of my own. It worked out pretty well – had tomatoes, chives, peppers and basil. A good start!
Today, I was reminded that when you’re readying an area to start planting, you don’t have to pull the weeds by hand! You can use a shovel to get out the deep roots and use a rake to break up the ground and loosen the weeds!
Tip #132
Get rid of weeds the easy way…rake them up! Then get ready to plan your planting!
This year, I’m going to try a few more…beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, carrots, chives, parsley and some lettuce! Bonus! Maybe one doesn’t have to be BORN with a green thumb… :-)
