Thank you for the comment Inese! One of the tenets of this blog from the beginning has been that some tips may be of help to you, some may not. All offered in a spirit of simple tips, without judgment. Take what works for you...

It sounds like you have a pretty clear picture of what you want...which is wonderful! For some of us however, the path was not always as clear. For some who may never have had a stable home or family, they may have a value of Family because it's important to them. The next step would be establishing the goals to develop what they haven't had in their lives. It may be something they want to achieve or even overcome depending on their circumstance.

Writing things down tends to make things more real or more concrete somehow, at least for me. Again, if it doesn't work for you... skip it! Do what works for you! ...and Thanks again for your comments!

Well, I suppose that's Ok, but why would somebody need to write down things that are the most important in his/her life? Isn't that something everybody is aware of? Like family. Wouldn't that be strange I had written on my mirror: remember your family? I do think about them every moment when I'm not busy with some other stuff, even though, most of them are across the ocean, and I value them most of all without any reminders. Or home. Why do I have to write it somewhere? I take good care of my home in sense of coziness, good atmosphere, great feel to it, I decorate it, I hang all around my paintings, etc. I make it welcoming. Home simply is in me. I don't exist in a parallel universe, I'm where my home is. I don't mean even the physical house.
I'd still understand you write down what you intend to achieve, to challenge, to overcome, to stop struggling with. That would make some sense. But those are goals, not values.
I think, if somebody is not sure what his or her values in life are, something is wrong with that person. It's just so that many people value wrong things, like put greed and money first of everything else. Two-faced guys who use to repeat all the time: Money isn't everything. Sure. Just ask them to lend you some.
I do not understand really why people have to write everything down. It just means that they are not sure where they stand and where they are going.
